A Logistics Management Information System (LMIS) is a digital solution that tracks health commodities from central medical stores to regional warehouses and health facilitiescovering medicines, medical supplies, test kits, and consumables such as gloves, syringes, and reagents, to ensure availability and reduce stockouts. HISP Rwanda began its LMIS intervention in Comoros in mid-2024, supporting the Ministry of Health to transition from paper-based systems to an electronic LMIS (eLMIS) through the design and implementation of an integrated DHIS2 and mSupply solution, enabling real-time stock visibility, improved forecasting, and data-driven decision-making across the islands. Building on this experience, HISP Rwanda has also contributed to strengthening digital supply chain systems in Djibouti and other countries by providing system customization, dashboard development, training, and ongoing technical support helping national health systems improve access to essential health commodities through interoperable and sustainable digital health solutions.
