HISP Rwanda Participates in World Malaria Day 2025 with Innovative Digital Surveillance Tools

On World Malaria Day 2025, HISP Rwanda proudly joined Rwanda’s Ministry of Health, Rwanda Biomedical Center, WHO Rwanda, the City of Kigali, and other key partners in a national event held in Ndera, Gasabo District. The celebration embraced the powerful theme: “Malaria Ends with Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite.”

During the event, HISP Rwanda showcased its cutting-edge malaria surveillance indicators dashboard, highlighting the role of digital innovation in the fight against malaria. Key demonstrations included the Electronic Community Event Based Surveillance (e-CEBS) system, actively used by Community Health Workers (CHWs) to report and monitor malaria cases at the community level.

Additionally, the Village Level Weekly Malaria Surveillance Tracker, utilized at health facilities, was presented as a vital tool for timely data collection and response.

World Malaria Day serves as a crucial moment for reflection and renewed commitment. HISP Rwanda’s participation underscored the importance of leveraging technology to strengthen malaria surveillance and response systems. Together with its partners, HISP Rwanda calls on all stakeholders to reinvest, reimagine, and reignite efforts toward achieving a #MalariaFreeRwanda.

This collaborative spirit and technological advancement mark significant progress in Rwanda’s journey to eliminate malaria and protect the health of its communities. END                                  Watch the full video here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w4tIQfDfT8&t=4s
