HISP Rwanda Highlights Climate-Health Innovations at DHIS2 2025 Conference Hosted by University of Oslo

Last week, the HISP Centre at the University of Oslo successfully hosted the DHIS2 2025 Climate & Health Conference & Workshop, a landmark global event focused on the intersection of climate data and health information systems. HISP Rwanda proudly participated alongside the Rwanda Ministry of Health and key partners from the Wellcome-funded project, representing all 10 pilot countries engaged in this initiative.

During the conference, HISP Rwanda shared critical insights on the integration of climate data into the DHIS2 platform, a step pivotal for enhancing health system responsiveness to environmental changes. The team also contributed to advancing predictive modeling techniques that combine health and environmental data, aiming to improve early warning systems and resource allocation.

The event fostered collaboration among diverse stakeholders, enabling participants to tackle challenges related to climate resilience in health systems. Breakthroughs were celebrated, and collective efforts were reinforced toward building robust, climate-resilient health infrastructures that safeguard populations against emerging climate-related health threats.

HISP Rwanda’s active involvement underscores its commitment to leveraging digital health innovations to address global health challenges, particularly those intensified by climate change. This collaboration with the Ministry of Health Rwanda and international partners exemplifies the power of shared knowledge and coordinated action in shaping a healthier, more resilient future. END
