Last week, HISP Rwanda had the pleasure of supporting the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) and partners in facilitating a Training of Trainers on the Digitalized REC Microplanning Tool, held from 9–13 March 2026 in Musanze District.
The training focused on building the capacity of central-level staff and hospital EPI supervisors to use the digital microplanning system integrated into the DHIS2 platform. Participants learned how to develop, analyze, and automatically generate ready-to-use immunization microplans, improving efficiency and accuracy in planning vaccination activities.

By digitizing the microplanning process, this initiative strengthens data-driven decision-making, enhances service delivery, and supports Rwanda’s ongoing efforts to ensure that every child receives life-saving vaccines.
Advancing Health Through Technology
The digital microplanning tool provides real-time access to immunization data, helping supervisors identify gaps, optimize resources, and respond quickly to vaccination needs. With automated reporting and interactive dashboards, the system empowers health authorities to make informed decisions and improve coverage nationwide.

This training is a significant step toward modernizing immunization planning in Rwanda, demonstrating the impact of HISP Rwanda’s expertise in digital health solutions in achieving public health goals. END
