Rwanda is accelerating its mission to ensure every child is in school through the Zero Out-of-School Children (Zero OOSC) project, which aims to reintegrate over 177,000 children into the education system.

On March 24, 2026, World Tuberculosis Day highlights the urgent need to end TB—still the world’s deadliest infectious disease. HISP Rwanda is supporting countries including Djibouti, Chad, Burundi, Rwanda, and Tanzania with digital health solutions that strengthen TB surveillance, improve data quality, and enhance patient care.

The HISP EMR deployment in the Central African Republic follows a structured approach combining system assessment, customization, and capacity building to ensure alignment with local hospital workflows. Configured in French, the system is supported by hands-on training and an EMR Showroom that simulates real hospital processes to strengthen user adoption.

By digitizing patient records and hospital operations, the platform enables clinicians to access critical information quickly and supports administrators with real-time dashboards on service delivery and resource management. At the national level, integrated data synchronization through a central EMR server provides timely, reliable insights for decision-making and health system planning.

Last week, HISP Rwanda supported the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) and partners in a Training of Trainers on the Digitalized REC Microplanning Tool in Musanze District. The training equipped central-level staff and hospital EPI supervisors to use the DHIS2-integrated system to develop, analyze, and generate ready-to-use immunization microplans, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in vaccination planning.

La République Centrafricaine accélère la transformation de sa planification vaccinale grâce à la digitalisation des microplans via DHIS2. Avec l’appui technique de HISP Rwanda, 76 formations sanitaires de la région sanitaire n°5 disposent désormais de microplans numériques, de cartes géospatiales et de tableaux de bord interactifs. Cette initiative améliore la qualité des données, facilite le suivi en temps réel et constitue un modèle prometteur pour renforcer la couverture vaccinale à l’échelle nationale.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness of Jamaica with support from the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and implementation partner Health Information Systems Programme (HISP) Rwanda has successfully used DHIS2 digital Cancer surveillance Module to strengthen Jamaica’s National Cancer Registry for improving data quality, timeliness, and access for cancer control planning.

More than 60 participants from over 15 countries gathered in Kigali for a five-day DHIS2 workshop focused on spatiotemporal modelling of climate-sensitive diseases. The training strengthened global collaboration and capacity to integrate climate and health data for improved public health preparedness.

HISP Rwanda, in partnership with the Ministry of Health Rwanda, is hosting a five-day DHIS2 workshop in Kigali on spatiotemporal modelling of climate-sensitive diseases. The workshop brings together over 60 participants from more than 15 countries to strengthen capacity in analysing climate and health data for improved disease forecasting, early warning, and response.

HISP Rwanda, alongside Waliku, HISP Mozambique (Saudigitus), Save the Children Rwanda, and MINEDUC, participated in a Technical Assistance mission under the Zero Out-of-School Children (ZOOSC) Project to strengthen the DHIS2-based student absence tracking system and enhance data-driven efforts to prevent school dropout in Rwanda.

HISP Ltd in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Rwanda Biomedical Centre, has launched eVLMIS Version 2, a nationally deployed digital platform transforming how vaccine supply chains are managed, monitored, and optimized.
